A life remembered
Mrs. Hortense Thomas (née Rattray), aged 78, of Papine, St. Andrew, passed peacefully on the date above, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in St. Andrew, Hortense was a devoted member of Morant Bay Church of God for over 18 years. She worked as a postmistress and was well known throughout the community for her generosity, quiet strength, and unwavering faith.
She is survived by her children Dorette, Lucille, Violet, Percival, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends across Jamaica and the diaspora.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
Funeral arrangements
Service & interment
- ✦Funeral service for the late Hortense will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Papine, St. Andrew at 2:00 PM.
- ✦Interment follows at the family plot.
- ✦The family kindly requests that mourners wear white or light colours.
- ✦No flowers by request — donations may be made to the St. Andrew Infirmary.
